"First Sunday Series" 2012 Trail Runs

The Paul Smith's College VIC's 2012 "First Sunday Series"; Trail Runs will be held on the first Sunday of the month, from 10 AM to 1 PM, starting in July. Everyone from beginners to experienced trail runners have a chance to win! Racers accumulate points for each event and mileage to earn great prizes. Race day registration available. A 5K option is available at each event. Races start at 10 AM, 5K's at 11AM. All proceeds from the series will go to benefit The Paul Smith's College VIC.

Series Points: The top finishers for male and female will receive prizes for overall points at the end of the series. Points are awarded to the top ten finishers, as well as to the top age group finishers for the 10K, 15K, Half Marathon and Full Marathon. Every participant will receive 5 points per race regardless of distance. Every participant is responsible for keeping track of their point total and turning in their point form before the final event. Point totals are due 26 August .

VIC Trail Runner Tech Shirts: Shirts will be guaranteed for those registrants in the final events on 2 September who register by August 15th. Those who have completed 20k at The VIC will be able to pick up their shirt at The VIC on 2 September at the post race BBQ. If you are not running and would like to buy a ticket for the BBQ, please contact Sarah Keyes.

Fees: 5K's- $20, 10K- $25, 15K- $35, Half- $50, Full- $60

Youth Trail Run Series: Each event will include a VIC Youth Trail Run! Trail Runners from ages 6-10 years old can enter the 1 mile fun run for $5!

5K Fun Runs

Up your mileage by doing the monthly 5K Fun Runs. The third Wednesday of the month, starting in May, the VIC will have a free 5K fun run at 6 PM. Runners get a chance to check out the VIC trails and meet other trail enthusiasts. Runners will meet through September on Wednesdays: 5/23, 6/20, 7/18, 8/15, 9/19

The Paul Smiths VIC offers a wide variety of programs throughout the year to educate and inform Adirondack Park residents and visitors about the natural wonders of the Adirondack Mountains. Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
